Longtime friends Antonique Peterson and Brionne Alford make up the team bringing the fitness brand to the Atlanta area for the first time.

Peterson started doing pilates about five years ago, excited to discover an effective form of exercise she truly enjoyed.

“It’s very variable,” she told What Now Atlanta. “You can make it as light as you want or ramp it up and make it as intense as you want. It’s a full-body workout, and that’s why I really fell in love with it.”

Alford notes the effects of pilates on not only the body, but the mind.

“I started [pilates] about four years ago just to help with mindfulness and being able to release some tension and get out of the house,” she said. “I enjoyed this style of pilates a little bit more because there’s a little bit of cardio and weights involved, so I feel like it sculpts me more.”

JETSET Pilates blends traditional and modern pilates, offering 50-minute sessions with DJ-curated playlists as the soundtrack. The Alpharetta studio will feature 14 JETSET Custom Advanced Reformers, lots of natural light and the brand’s signature scent.

Peterson and Alford cite the growth of the area as a reason why they’re excited to bring Georgia’s first JETSET Pilates location to Alpharetta.

“We both live in the area, and we have been seeing the transition for awhile now where people are actively moving to the Alpharetta-Johns Creek area,” Alford said. “We’ve been super impressed with not only the growth of the area, but how well their development and city planning department is planning it. It’s still a small town, but with a big-city feel. We thought that bringing this new style of pilates there, beginning a new business there, would be something that is super neat since there are a lot of people who are coming to the area.”

JETSET Pilates aims to offer a first-class experience, where visitors can look good and feel good.

“We have a workout that’s definitely intense, but it’s also something you can do every day,” Alford said. “I think that’s important, and I think that’s also what will set us apart from our competitors.”

The Alpharetta studio is expected to open this October.

JETSET Pilates currently has eight locations in Florida, with additional ones planned for Florida, Texas, New York, North Carolina and Australia.
