An indoor pool in the heat of Atlanta is hard to come by, but this Morningside Mid-Century gem caters to year-round swimming. Built in 1958 by the Nelkin family, popular architects at the time, the 5,205 square-foot home was renovated down to the studs and rebuilt in 2005. Through the extensive renovations, the architectural integrity was kept intact although the design shifted, and this stunning property was reborn.
The interior design encompasses a classic Mid-Century modern aesthetic and architecture with white walls, wood doors, and brick accents. The front door is found in the back of the one-story home.
The most unique feature of the home, the indoor heated pool, was revamped during the renovations with a new roof including 12 skylights bringing the outdoors in. Sliding doors surround the pool and also give the space an outdoor feel when opened. Another standout element of the three-bed, three-and-a-half-bath house is the expansive owner’s bathroom. Consisting of a steam shower, gorgeous infinity tub overlooking the outdoors, and organized closet, it is a dream. In fact, the tub’s faucet is on the bathroom ceiling, filling the bathtub from above. There is also a dedicated office space for working from home.
Due to maintaining aspects from the original property, the driveway is quite unique. It wraps around behind the home, creating plenty of parking for entertaining guests. To be on such a busy road, the property is extremely private, sitting on 1.255 acres of land.
The home is listed through Erin Yabroudy with Harry Norman, REALTORS® and located at 1819 Lenox Road, Atlanta, GA 30306.
