The opening will likely be late-March 2020, owner Damien McGee shared with What Now Atlanta on a phone call Monday.

Once $60,000 worth of construction is complete, the neighborhood bar will offer a Casino Royale-themed environment with craft beers and cocktails named after Bond girls, including its namesake concoction, The Vesper—Hendricks Gin, Titos Vodka, Lillet, served ice cold, shaken, not stirred.

“It will be a tapas restaurant, bar, and lounge—a little bit upscale with couches and chairs and conversation pits with board games and graphic novels, but still have a neighborhood feel,” McGee, who is especially partial to the latter, said.

“We love the neighborhood look of Glenwood Park, and obviously we like being on the BeltLine and all that’s happening on Memorial Drive; at any moment that area is going to the hottest place in town.”

McGee, who lives in neighboring Reynoldstown, plans to open more Vesper-like neighborhood bars around town soon after its spring debut.

This will be McGee’s fourth restaurant affiliation including Red Chair Restaurant and Jungle Club, third in Atlanta, and first venture with partner and stunt man Jon Tilley.

  1. This sounds eerily familiar to a restaurant in midtown called the Consulate. James Bond themed? Tapas? Loungey? Bond titled drinks? Craft cocktails? Novels? err. ok.
