A new business under the name Aunt Mary Opal’s Speakeasy is in the liquor license application process with the City of Atlanta.
According to the liquor license application, Aunt Mary Opal’s Speakeasy is going to be a restaurant and bar serving liquor, wine, and beer. The eatery is headed to 2310 Benjamin E Mays Drive, which sits at the intersection with Beecher Rd. The restaurant space is 2,317 square feet and has a seating capacity of 68 patrons.
Aunt Mary Opal’s will be in good company on Benjamin E Mays Drive, where the area is already home to eateries like BUZZ Coffee and Winehouse, Top Louisiana Seafood, and The Beautiful, among others.
In true speakeasy fashion, we were unable to reach the applicant and property owner Shea Embry for comment, so we too look forward to learning more about the nature of this establishment, including when it plans to open.
Correction: an earlier version of this article incorrectly listed Ashley Tison as the owner. Tison is the owner’s attorney.
