The new restaurant, at 425 Ponce de Leon Avenue (in the now-shuttered Church’s Chicken space), will operate from 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday.

“I’ve always wanted to bring a Zaxby’s to this area of Atlanta,” Coleman, who currently owns six Georgia Zaxby’s locations including, said in the release.

“Zaxby’s has built its reputation and loyal following by providing excellent service and great-tasting food, and I plan to carry on that tradition with this new, convenient location.”

The new 2,665-square-foot Zaxby’s location will be the 14th for Fulton County, and the 207th for the Peach State.

Zaxby’s currently operates more than 575 locations in 13 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Zaxby’s offers prepared-at-order chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches and salads.

  1. Hope that these folks realize the risk of staying open so late at nite on Ponce. Also hope they have joined the Midtown MPSA patrol and will have an off-duty policeman for security at nite.

    1. Great, another place for the obese to hook up their face to a grease faucet. I can’t believe city officials allowed this to happen.

  2. I’m with you John, too many chickenheads in that part of town, and I’m not talking about Zaxby’s fans.

  3. I am so excited that Zaxby’s is coming to Midtown. Finally a piece of Statesboro right here in Atlanta! I miss Zaxby’s sauce too. Yum.

  4. If opening day was any indicator, they’ll succeed. They were swamped yesterday. I live a few blocks away and thought I’d head over for dinner. Every parking space in the lot was taken and two Zaxby’s folks were managing traffic. They said there was about a 10-minute wait in the drive through and at least double that inside. The store was brimming with people.

I wasn’t able to wait and will try again another time.

Btw, for those above carping about the food choices of obese people, they have a delicious grilled chicken salad.

    1. Glad to hear it! It’ll be a great alternative to the post-bar Taco Bell trips on the weekends too! Its generally like that everyday at the location in my hometown – you have to plan on waiting a little while for your coaster to start flashing or to hear your number called. If you like the Zax sauce, go ahead and pay the extra 25-cents when you order rather than waiting on a cashier to glance your way when you run out.. the register area can be crowded.

  5. Went to Zaxby’s tonight and it was packed again. The drive-thru line stretched around the building (literally). There were lots of people dining inside as well. Quick service, smiling faces and good food. Welcome to the neighborhood, Zaxby’s!
