Yoforia West Midtown Shutters, The FroYo Chain’s Latest Casualty

Only two Georgia locations of the frozen yogurt chain remains.

Only two Georgia locations of the frozen yogurt chain remains.

Yoforia West Midtown in the Westside Provisions District, at 1100 Howell Mill Road NW, closed its doors for good August 24, according to signage posted on the frozen yogurt shop’s front door.

“With our growing family, we have decided to focus all our efforts on the Piedmont Park store,” according to the note with attention to “loyal customers.”

However, the franchise doesn’t seem to be growing. Yoforia’s Morningside and Brookhaven locations closed earlier. At one point, Yoforia had as many as 12 locations throughout Georgia.

The Piedmont Park store at 985 Monroe Drive will continue to operate, “for many years to come,” according to the signage at the now-shuttered West Midtown outpost. There’s also a Yoforia in concourse D of the Atlanta airport.

Yoforia was not immediately available for comment. The yogurt chain’s corporate phone number is disconnected and Yoforia’s Facebook and Twitter accounts have not been updated since late 2014, excluding a single tweet indicating only one Yoforia remains in Charlotte, NC.

Do you think the Piedmont Park Yoforia will survive? Is the demand for frozen yogurt on the decline? Let us know in the comments section below!

  1. I hope it survives. I have been to both locations — Westside and Piedmont, but Piedmont is closer to me. At the time I visited the Westside location, I wondered if it would survive there, although I am not as familiar with that market area. I love frozen yogurt . . . I also love Yoforia . . . and Atlanta seems to have a dearth of frozen yogurt stores. I hope Yoforia makes it.

  2. I don’t think it’s the death of yogurt stores as a whole it’s just pink berry and Yogli Mogli are expanding so rapidly it’s killing business for Yoforia. You walk into any of these stores and they are packed. Yo forum not so much.
