YEAH! BURGER’s location in Virginia-Highland, at 1017 North Highland Avenue NE., has been listed for sale. The burger joint, which operates an under-renovation outpost in the Westside Provisions District, has been in business for a decade, having replaced a car wash in 2010 as first reported by What Now Atlanta.
The freestanding restaurant, complete with a dedicated parking lot and fully-equipped turnkey space, has been listed for $325,000. Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group, Inc. holds the listing.
Erik Maier, owner of YEAH! BURGER, confirmed the news Saturday in an email to What Now Atlanta (WNA), saying the restaurant, which closed in March 2020 to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, will not reopen.
“After much consideration, we’ve made the decision to not re-open Virginia-Highland in order to focus on the re-opening of YEAH! BURGER West Midtown and a new Upbeet,” Maier said. “This was not an easy decision and we would like to sincerely thank the Virginia-Highland community for their support and patronage over the past 9 ½ years.”
The sale includes all “as is” furniture, fixtures, equipment, and rights to negotiate a new lease, but does not include rights to the use or ownership of the business name, branding, signage, recipes, and or books and records of YEAH! BURGER.
“YEAH! BURGER West Midtown is currently undergoing a full renovation and will reopen this fall with a new menu,” Maier said. “We are actively working on Upbeet’s second location and more information on where and when will be forthcoming.”
Maier would not disclose the location of the forthcoming Upbeet when asked by WNA for additional details surrounding those plans. Upbeet currently operates one location in West Midtown.
There’s a lot of restaurant movement on the corner of Virginia and Highland Avenues where YEAH! BURGER has long stood. In the immediately-adjacent building two new restaurants are forthcoming: Pizza by The Slice and Kinship.

It appears that Va-Hi isn’t the destination that it once was.
Too much competition from other parts of the city I spose.
I have a friend that was approached about opening/taking over two businesses over there.
He said with all the dark storefronts, there was no way.

Just gotta say it looks like just another bowl/smoothie/wrap/ toast place.
Are people really spending $12+ for what’s basically a fancy salad, and $9+ for a smoothie???
I think you nailed it. All the young adults who used to jam into Va-Hi restaurants are on the Beltline now.
Guess it’s time to turn all those empty storefronts into Amazon fulfillment centers.
Seems like Decatur might need to do the same…
