Former basement of a 20th century house between Little Five Points and Inman Park turns brewpub
Wrecking Bar Brewpub, taking space originally built as an Victorian-style, single-family home in 1900, is slated to open June 19, according to spokeswoman Jill Caramella.
“The brewpub” portion, located in the basement of the historic structure on Moreland Avenue, will open to the public on Father’s Day (Sunday, June 19), while the special events space located above Wrecking Bar, The Marianna, is expected to be completed in the fall.
The 17,500-square-foot brewpub will boast a 7-barrel system and an ever-changing selection of craft brews with a menu encompassing up to 12 taps and four casks on hand each day, according to a release Wednesday.
Beer selections may include wheat, amber ales, stouts, Belgian ales, German style and cask ales along with specialties like wood-aged and sour beers. The brewpub will also offer a full bar with an emphasis on classic cocktails.
Some menu items include Beer & Cheese Soup with smoked gouda, Beef Short Ribs in braised stout with stone-ground green chili grits and Pan-Seared Copper River Salmon with sautéed spinach, sweet potato strings and a golden ale grain mustard sauce.
The Wrecking Bar Brewpub will feature six distinct areas, the release notes, with a capacity to seat 120 people inside and 20 patrons on the patio.

Excellent! I love seeing the nano-breweries and cask-conditioned beers popping up in Atlanta. Great scenes and local flavor. Why couldn’t this be the trend instead of yogurt places?

SO glad someone didn’t let this building fall into disrepair! This is a great addition to the neighborhood.
Seems like, at the end of the year, there were so many restaurant closings and now there seems to be so many more opening than closing… it would be interesting to see the numbers. December got me a little discouraged, but all the announcements/openings has been great to see over the past few months.
