Legoland Discovery Center announces 10 winning buildings for its Miniland city, made from the iconic plastic brick.
Legoland, which is building its Discovery Center at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead, announced late last week, the ten Atlanta attractions that will appear at the theme park’s “Miniland” exhibit.
The following 10 Atlanta icons will be featured, according to a press release:
Construction for Legoland’s Discovery Center is well underway.
The 32,000-square-foot Legoland is being constructed in the former food court area on the third level of Phipps Plaza. Johnny Rockets, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Subway will remain at the mall, but are currently being relocated.

Of course, mostly tourist stuff. As if the GA Dome and Turner Field in any way symbolize our city. How about a streetscape of L5P or VaHi? The Varsity is so overdone. Who has eaten there more than once on this blog? If you have to have a canned food one, do the Big Chicken instead! The GT clock tower would have been good.

SB, the likelihood of doing streetscapes like VaHi or L5P gets tricky with licensing multiple residential and commercial areas. That’s why the items chosen are all individual landmarks. And The Varsity is an Atlanta institution that’s not part of a worldwide franchise, so I’d much rather see it than the Big Chicken.
I swear, 99% of the comments on this site are people complaining about trivial subjects.
