After announcing nearly two years ago plans to open in Grant Park, neighborhood eatery Woodward & Park this week will finally open its doors. Situated in the Larkin on Memorial development, at 519 Memorial Dr. SE, Woodward & Park will debut Friday, September 11, according to a press release.
The restaurant’s team is a little different than previously planned, however. Robert Phalen was announced to be associated with the project, but the chef, who last year shuttered his Mary Hoopa’s restaurant, is focusing on his One Eared Stag Inman Park restaurant. Instead, Chef Dan Brown—Torched Hop Brewing Company, 5Church Atlanta, Stationside, and the Porter Beer Bar—will helm the kitchen.
Some notable dishes on the menu include steak frites, a smoked half Springer Mountain chicken, a W&P Burger, and a Korean Pork Philly. Vegan options and daily specials will also be available alongside small plates and desserts like the Blondie Banana Pudding with burnt marshmallow fluff and a Chocolate-Passion Fruit Trifle. “Boutique wines, craft beers and handcrafted cocktails served in whimsical, vintage glassware,” will round out the beverage offerings.
“I am looking forward to providing new and exciting culinary options to the community while helping to build a dynamic neighborhood restaurant where people can feel at home, safe and have a great experience during the pandemic and for years to come,” Brown said in the release.
Atlanta developer, restauranteur, and longtime Grant Park resident James Brooks is a co-owner in Woodward & Park alongside Amanda Feathers, the acting general manager. Architect Jackson Thilenius of Retail Design Collaborative designed the space which features a patio, a bar with an antique mirrored backdrop, an open kitchen concept, and exposed brick and wood.
