Pending approval, it will be at 9766 Highway 92, right next to a Chick-fil-A. The space is currently home to the Cherokee Family Medical Center. Per Scoop OTP, Whataburger has requested to demolish the office building and rebuild.

Currently, Whataburger only operates one Georgia location in Thomasville, at 13880 US Highway 19 South. But it looks like it won’t be a lone ranger for much longer. Aside from Woodstock, Whataburger also has its sights set on Kennesaw. What Now Atlanta reported in August that the chain is planning to open a location at 705 Townpark Ln NW, former home to an O’Charley’s Restaurant & Bar.

“We absolutely love hearing that we have so many fans in Georgia,” Whataburger corporate communications told What Now Atlanta in February when rumors started circulating that an expansion into the area was imminent. “We’re not announcing any new locations in the Peach State at the moment, but we’ll be sure to let you know if that changes.”

The burger chain is known for its iconic Whataburger, as well as other variations like the Sweet and Spicy Bacon, Hatch Green Chile Bacon, and Mushroom Swiss Burgers. Its Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits are also a fan favorite.

There has been no official word from Whataburger on the forthcoming Georgia restaurants.

When asked for comment, a representative for the chain said, “We don’t have any news to share at this time, but I’ll be in touch when information becomes available.”

Note: This article has been updated since its original publication to include comment from Whataburger.
