Co-working giant WeWork this month debuted two new facilities as Atlanta-born Roam Innovative Workplace entered the planning phase of adding a Buckhead location.
The new WeWork outposts include a 100,000-square-foot space downtown, at 101 Marietta Street NW, and another in Midtown, at 881 Peachtree Street NE, according to a press release Friday.
“Downtown Atlanta has long been home to some of the country’s most notable corporations and now welcomes a steady rise of entrepreneurs and small-to-medium sized businesses,” Bobby Condon, southeast GM for WeWork, said in the release.
“WeWork 101 Marietta provides our members with a prime, central location to take advantage of all of downtown’s offerings and attractions, from professional sports to museums, concerts and more. With unprecedented views of the Atlanta skyline, a dynamic work environment, and a dedicated Community team, our members will have access to the space, community and services they need to grow their business in the heart of downtown Atlanta.”
With the addition of WeWork 881 Peachtree, the company will have a total of five locations in Midtown alone, and thirteen across the metro area.
“Our expansion is a testament to the growth and demand we are seeing across Atlanta, but specifically, a strong attraction to accessibility and offerings that Midtown provides our members,” Condon said.
“Our Midtown community is strong, and we look forward to providing even more Atlantans with vibrant workspace and access to a global platform in order to grow and scale their business with WeWork.”
Local competitor Roam is looking to expand its footprint, too.
The company submitted plans to the City of Atlanta to open what will be its second Buckhead facility.
Lenox Marketplace, at 3535 Peachtree Road NE, will house the nearly 20,000-square-foot Roam in a portion of the former Pirch showroom on the second floor of the shopping center.
Roam has existing locations in Buckhead at Tower Place, Alpharetta, Dunwoody, Galleria, and Sandy Springs.
