TJX Companies, Inc. begins consolidation of A.J. Wright Division

A.J. Wright on Cascade will close for renovations to reopen as Marshalls.

TJX Companies, Inc., the parent company of the department store located at 590 Cascade Avenue SW, announced on Dec. 10 they’d consolidate the A.J. Wright Division by converting 91 A.J. Wright Stores to a T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, or HomeGoods Banners.

The off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions, expects to incur estimated pre-tax costs related to closing the A.J. Wright business in the range of $250 to $280 million, according to that same announcement.

Taking 25,254 square feet, Marshalls was cleared by the city to began the “interior commercial renovation,” last week.

A.J. Wright first entered the Atlanta market in 2009 with a total of nine locations.

The Decatur (Belvedere Plaza Shopping Center at 3435 Memorial Drive) and Stone Mountain (971 N Hairston Rd) A.J. Wright stores will not undergo the renovations and will instead close.
