“We do not have a confirmed opening date, as we are waiting for permitting from the city to begin construction,” Cunningham told What Now Atlanta in an email Monday. “Our hope is to open in late spring.”

Cunningham co-founded the Roswell Wine Festival in 2012. And then in March 2020, he seized the opportunity of having extra time during the pandemic to focus on a business plan for a wine shop.

“We are creating a mid-century modern environment, with seating up to 15 indoors with additional outside seating,” Cunningham said. “In addition, we will have a record player and vinyl for customers to play while shopping or enjoying a flight.”

During Vin ATL’s wine tastings, customers can try flights before purchasing a bottle or two. Each flight consists of three, three-ounce tastes, and there will be six to eight flights available.

“Our focus is a retail wine shop that sells wine bottles,” Cunningham said. “However, our tasting room will be available Tuesday thru Sunday during our regular hours. Our goal is to create wine flights that educate consumers on different varietals and wines from all over the world. For example, we would serve a flight on Orange wines, which is becoming popular with wine drinkers. Also, we will have 6-8 wines that will be part of our flight program, and available to purchase to-go in our growlers.”

Customers can also purchase prepackaged snacks or create their own cheese board. A selection of non-alcoholic wines will also be available.

“There is no time limit on a wine tasting, but we expect that we are a stop on a night out when customers come to enjoy a flight of wine.”

The pricing for wine tastings is not set in stone yet, however, flights will be in the $15 -$30 range.

“We feel the space is intimate for wine drinkers to learn, purchase and drink wine without being overwhelmed. We like that it’s next to Marta, and next to brand new apartments in a growing surrounding area that is walkable. The outdoor space was a great bonus for the location. It allows for unique experiences in the future,” Cunningham said.
