Velvet Taco, an all-day taco joint based out of Texas, is moving forward with plans to open this summer in Buckhead.
The restaurant Monday unveiled details and a fresh rendering for its forthcoming outpost in Buckhead Market Place, at 35 W Paces Ferry Road Suite 450.
Velvet Taco will be situated in a corner space adjacent the recently-announced Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams in the Whole Foods Market-anchored shopping center.
The 2,500-square-foot restaurant will stay open late and offer an all-day menu including twenty taco varieties using handmade tortillas like the Spicy Tikka Chicken, Fried Paneer, Picnic Chicken, Falafel, Cuban Pig, Annatto Shredded Pork and Ahi Poke.
Sides and desserts include the Red Curry Coconut Queso, ‘Elote’ Corn and Red Velvet Cake.
Each week, guests will be able to sample a new taco as part of the restaurant’s Weekly Taco Feature or “WTF.”
On the beverage side, Velvet Taco will serve local and Mexican beer on tap and in cans, craft sodas, fruit-infused iced teas, and its “Kick-Ass Margarita.”
The taco joint will also offer seasonal spins on its margarita like the strawberry rhubarb version served for spring.
Atlanta will mark the Dallas-born restaurant’s first Southeast location, joining Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and Chicago.
