UPDATE (June 29, 2017): Midtown’s Cactus House Set To Open ‘After Fourth of July Weekend’
Details surrounding a mysterious taqueria concept Cactus House, for which signage appeared late-last year in Midtown, have emerged.
Cactus House, situated in the Azure on the Park residential project at 1020 Piedmont Ave NE, is slated to open Spring 2017, Emilio Lourdes, co-owner of the taqueria, this week told What Now Atlanta in an email.
“Azure seemed like the perfect location,” Lourdes said. “Although small, Cactus House will really stand out here. The location is ideal due to its proximity to Piedmont Park and many residences. Additionally, there is a nice vibe about this part of town.”
The fast-casual taqueria will specialize in “craft tacos,” handcrafted tacos from “only fresh, natural, and local ingredients.”
Many of the recipes were inspired by Lourdes’ mother, a chef in Mexico, he said.
When spring rolls around, Lourdes looks forward to serving Atlantans Cactus House’s prickly pear frozen margarita (from the nopal cactus) and a “special dessert” on the restaurant’s patio.
“We are expecting to see several folks walking around Piedmont Park with it. It’s going to be quite iconic! This one is a secret until the opening though.”
