Willie Degel, a former Food Network host, has big plans for Georgia with the goal to have 10 restaurants across the state in the next three years. Already, his business, Uncle Jack’s Meat House has operated in Duluth, at 6590 Sugarloaf Parkway Suite 201, for the last four years. New locations are on the way, though, with a location in Peachtree Corners and Roswell expected in the coming months.
New neighborhoods that Degel is considering for his statewide expansion include Decatur, Buckhead, and Alpharetta. No exact addresses were disclosed to What Now Atlanta (WNA) during a recent conversation.
WNA did learn that Degel’s planned Lawrenceville location, at 50 S Clayton Street Suite 100, is aiming for a spring 2021 debut. This 4,730-square-foot, 250-seat space will be an Uncle Jack’s Tavern. It will feature an outdoor, 100-seat porch.
Degel said the restaurant will be “warm, cozy, modern, but affordable” with a “very elegant and classy” bar that will be able to seat approximately 22 people. “The tavern is the menu mix of all my favorite items from all my brands and all my 35 years of culinary dining experience,” said Degel, who added that he was particularly attracted to the neighborhood for the amount of redevelopment happening.
The restaurant will be a part of the $200 million mixed-use development project, known as SouthLawn. Noted as Gwinnett’s largest redevelopment project, this redevelopment will bring over 600 residential units and approximately 15,000 square feet of retail.
In Peachtree Corners, the restaurant planned will be an Uncle Jack’s Meat House with three outdoor patios, a private party space, and a bar. With an opening expected by October, Degel said that construction is currently “about 65% done.”
WNA previously reported that the Roswell location of Uncle Jack’s will replace Big Ketch Saltwater Grill at 1105 Canton Street. This location will be dubbed Uncle Jack’s on Canton Street. Degel said that the opening is expected to be late September.

With the exception of Decatur, they all sound like excellent locations for this type of restaurant.
But Decatur is pricing out their independent restaurants, so they probably deserve a place like this– Midtown too…
The name, Uncle Jack’s Meat House, sounds kinda pervy though.
