Two Restaurants in the Same Space Opening at Renaissance Walk Downtown

One Cafe Blanc and Yoeshi Opening in the Foreclosed Renaissance Walk Condos and Retail

Renaissance Walk Condos and Retail, located on the corner of Auburn and Piedmont Avenues Downtown, might be in foreclosure but that’s not stopping restaurateurs from doing what they do best. Two new restaurants are opening on the Piedmont side of Renaissance Walk mid February, roughly three weeks from today. Adjacent to each other and neighbors to the newly opened Smoothie King, One Cafe Blanc and Yoeshi hope to fulfill Renaissance Walk’s initial goal of the “ Rebirth of Downtown East and on the Auburn Avenue corridor.” Info on the new dining as posted on the entranceway:

Yoeshi restaurant is influenced by designs from Harajuku, which is an area in Tokyo, Japan, which is renowned for its street fashion and a popular hangout for young people. The Yoeshi restaurant will serve Japanese street food and desserts. Some of the menu items include crepes, frozen yogurt, Japanese pastries, etc. These foods can be considered snack foods and therefore have been designed for fast service and portability. Our customers can enjoy these foods in our restaurant but the packaging is such that they could also eat it like a street food while walking to school or to work. We will also be featuring grab and go pre-made/packaged Asian dinners. Packaged sushi will also be stocked in the grab and go section.

One Café Blanc is influenced by concepts like “Moe’s” (assembled burritos), “Dressed” (custom salads), “Counter Burger” and “Flip Burger” (custom burgers). It also features a coffee and pastry shop concept like “Starbucks.” We will also be serving meal solutions like “Whole Foods” and “Alons.” We want to be leaders in preparing not only tasty, hearty meals, but also healthy meals. We will offer a variety of vegetarian selections as well as special foods for customers on low sugar and low salt diets.

Though these concepts seem like apples and oranges when compared, sources indicate that both locations will be owned and operated by the same owners. With Retail space no longer being leased at Renaissance Walk and with only a few condos occupied, One Café Blanc and Yoeshi will be relying on the college student traffic from Georgia State University and the now three dormitories within walking distance.

  1. Hey Chris – kinda hard to say the food isn’t good and the prices are too high when THE CAFE ISN’T EVEN OPEN YET!!! Get your facts straight!!!

  2. carly.. you must work with this gross man that runs the place. i know him. wont say his name, but he is not a person who should be running a business. he doesn’t have a clue. this isn’t his first, carly. come on now dont make me laugh.

  3. The food was pretty good when i went and it doesnt seem like any of the GA State students mind the food either since there’s always someone in the restaurant. But, it’s still early to tell how well they will or wont do.

  4. I loved the food! It was great, and the people were so nice. The prices were a tad high but not too bad, and Im a GSU student. 🙂

  5. I have been there. To be honest the head chef is really rude.. I heard that you have to be pretty to be a cashier. The food is ok but it is high for the salads..
