T’s Brunch Bar will take the place of Newk’s Eatery, the last remaining retail space in the Metropolis complex, according to leasing materials updated Monday. Newk’s closed its doors last year after literally being kicked to the curb. The 4,296 square-foot space sits adjacent to Fado Irish Pub.

Owner Teneshia Forts said T’s is “brunch with a twist” and will offer brunch favorites, like mimosas, while also featuring soul food classics like chicken and waffles, mac n’ cheese and collard greens.

Being from Midtown herself, Forts said she’s excited to offer a good spot for breakfast and brunch, as there aren’t many places for it in the area.

There’s no set opening date for T’s Brunch Bar just yet, although Forts said she’s hoping for the end of the year.

In the meantime, she said she wants people to know that a new brunch spot where people can go to enjoy good vibes and have a fun time, all throughout the day, is on is way.
