A developer has plans for a 22-unit townhome project at the northwest corner of Moreland and Ormewood Avenues, according to a special administrative permit application filed last month.
The owner of the roughly 1-acre project site, which is at 1160 Ormewood Ave., is listed as 1160 Ormewood Ave LLC, a company that includes Novare Group executives James Borders and Gardiner Thompson, according to state business filings and planning documents. SAP documents filed by planning consultant Kimley-Horn also list homebuilder Monte Hewett Homes as involved in the planned development.
Plans call 22 three-bedroom, for-sale townhomes along with 44 on-site parking spaces, planning documents show. The Ormewood Park project would also offer about 9,200 square feet of landscaped areas and plazas, as well as 4,354 square feet of rooftop terrace space and about 2,000 square feet of balconies.
Located on the cusp of East Atlanta, the property was slated as of 2017 to become Elway, a 19-unit mixed-use development by Third & Urban, What Now Atlanta reported at the time. It currently still holds a single-story retail building once occupied by Jiffy Grocery.
The architect for the new plans at the site is shown as Virginia-based firm Lessard Design.
The property was acquired by the affiliate of Novare Group for $920,000 in 2016, according to Fulton County property records.

Ugh !!! Would’ve much preferred the mixed-use “Elway” concept, with something for the community. Plus design on these are pretty bland.
I totally agree, the Elway concept fits so much better with the area. This design is very bland compared.
