Lake and Oak will replace Greater Good BBQ in the Hosea + 2nd development, at 2371 Hosea L Williams Drive SE, Richards late last week confirmed in a telephone call with What Now Atlanta (WNA).

Greater Good closed its doors in December 2019.

Richards said it was too early to discuss specifics of the restaurant, however, because of delays caused by City Hall being closed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I can’t even get a water permit right now,” Richards told WNA on Friday, asking for a follow-up Wednesday.

Calls by WNA Wednesday went unanswered.

Richards as the Culinary Director for Jackmont Hospitality was planning on opening a new barbecue concept in the former Anderson’s Old Fashioned Bar-B-Que space on Willis Mills Road in the southwest Atlanta neighborhood (SWATS) of Florida Heights.

It’s unclear if that project is moving forward.

  1. I hope this BBQ place actually smells like BBQ when driving by unlike Greater Good. Who wants to eat a BBQ place that doesn’t smell like Smokey BBQ goodness?

      1. I hope not. If I show up at a place called Lake and Oak I’m expecting over-priced tapas, not a mound of pulled pork.

        1. LOL, totes!
Seems like this development has had a lot of turnover, I’m wondering how it’s doing– generally speaking.
