“The restaurant landscape has changed since Top FLR opened,” Carr said in the statement. “The time had come to decide whether to revamp it or put it to bed and start new.”

Carr did not give specific reasons behind the closing and inquiries seeking further comment were not immediately returned.

Top FLR opened in 2007 under Carr, but after thanking patrons for the good times at 674 Myrtle Street in Midtown, he seems ready for future projects.

“We are more excited about starting new and moving on to the next ten years,” Carr concluded.

The announcement also revealed that three new concepts will be coming to the space Top FLR currently occupies. We will provide additional information on the new occupants as soon as it becomes available.

  1. Top Flr had ok food but about the Worst host service, bar service, kitchen management, and execution that I had seen in a long time. Sorry for the staff who will be out of work… Overall I blame management (or lack thereof) for the failure. I am honestly surprised that this place made it this long.
