But the space won’t sit dark long.

Bogartz Food Artz, owned by brothers Bruce and Scott Bogartz, will open in the restaurant’s place in October, according to a press release Wednesday.

Situated in the City Walk shopping center, Bogartz Food Artz will serve lunch and dinner with plans to later serve weekend brunch.

Bruce Bogartz worked as a personal chef for Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith and has owned and operated several Knoxville restaurants.

Bogarts is relocating to Atlanta to be closer to his family.

“The Atlanta culinary scene is incredible with so many renowned chefs and fantastic restaurants, and I’m very excited about the opportunity to make my mark as well,” Bogartz said in the release.

“One thing I’m really looking forward to is immersing myself in such a large and diverse market, and bringing my smaller market values to remind folks what dining should still be about—the community and power of food to bring people together.”

Some sample dishes that are anticipated at the restaurant include:

  • Ham & Clams $14—steamed Southern littleneck clams with crispy ham hock and Bloody
    Mary broth
  • Duck Two Ways $32—smoked breast and confit of duck, served with sweet potato hash
    and citrus mustard
  • Brie Beignets $10—Yeast dough fritters, stuffed with brie cheese, fried, and served with
    pepper jelly
  • Jerk Smoked Wings $10—five full wings (both the drum and the flat) dry rubbed, smoked,
served with secret recipe fusion of island spices and barbecue flavor
  • Shaved Smoked Sirloin Po Boy $12—served with brown gravy
  • Duck Club sandwich $16—Smoked duck breast, bacon, provolone, arugula, tomato jam

Ahead of its opening, the restaurant at 227 Sandy Springs Place NE, will undergo some “minimal renovations and redecorations.”
