Tiger Sugar’s 2550 Pleasant Hill Rd, Suite 419 location will be replacing Divine Coffee in the Park Village Shopping Center. While this is the first in the Atlanta metro, Tiger Sugar has opened over 40 locations around the world since its conception in 2017. The reason for its massive success, Tiger Sugar’s website details, is its original take on boba tea, described as a “drinkable dessert.”
“What Tiger Sugar wants to convey to the world is Taiwan’s strong human touch and endless creative aesthetics of leisure desserts,” the website states. The tea was created by founder Ming Tsung Tang, who combined brown sugar syrup with milk and tapioca pearls while working at his dessert shop in Taiwan, Eater previously reported. Tiger Sugar gets its namesake from the appearance of the tea — after adding the brown sugar syrup, “tiger stripes” appear.
According to Tiger Sugar’s website, several other operations are underway, with Miami, Philadelphia, Boston, and Brazil on the roster. Representatives of Tiger Sugar, including CEO Calvin Sun, have stayed silent about the upcoming opening.
