[Rendering] Will The Ritz-Carlton Anchor New 51-Story Selig Tower in Midtown?

1125 Peachtree Street will include a 271-key 'luxury' hotel, 70 residences, and 200,000 square feet of office space.

Selig’s newest Midtown development—a 51-story tower at 1125 Peachtree Street NE—is moving forward, the Atlanta Business Chronicle (ABC) Monday first reported.

Plans for the tower, set to be anchored by a 271-key “luxury” hotel, were recently submitted to the City of Atlanta, according to the ABC.

1125 Peachtree will also house 70 condos200,000 square feet of office space, and 6,000 square feet of ground-level retail, according to the plans.

What Now Atlanta (WNA) Tuesday obtained a low-quality rendering of the tower from a real estate insider which displays what appears to be The Ritz-Carlton logo at the top.

It’s possible that this rendering is one of several used by the developer to pitch various hotel operators.

“We have been in talks with several hotel partners for this new project,” a Selig spokesperson Tuesday told WNA in an email.

“This includes Marriott International (for brands like JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton) as well as Hilton Worldwide and Hyatt Corporation. We want to find the best fit for the Midtown market and to-date we are still in talks.”

Atlanta has one less location of the The Ritz-Carlton following a reflagging of the Buckhead outpost into The Whitley late-2017.

Rumors earlier this year suggested the hotel would build a new location from the ground up at the now-shuttered Houston’s site.

“The Ritz-Carlton is always looking towards the future and for the right opportunities with the right owner partners, but cannot confirm any new developments at this time,” a spokesperson in an email told WNA Wednesday.

“This goes for Peachtree Street project you reference below. The Ritz-Carlton remains committed to the vibrant Atlanta metro area market with The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta and The Ritz- Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee.”

A rendering for 1125 Peachtree seems to adorn the logo for The Ritz-Carlton.

  1. Location of Selig Tower superimposed in photo does not appear to coincide with location on the map. Selig has cleared a lot behind a recently completed high-rise apartment tower @ 13th. The cleared lot is on West Peachtree between 12th and 13th opposite the new Northside Medical Offices and Related Group’s new high rise apartments, ICON. That location seems to coincide more with the photo rendering. Would Selig be building TWO significant high-rises in Midtown simultaneously?

  2. The correct address is 1125 WEST Peachtree Street … it is on West Peachtree near 14th (actually between 13th and 12th) . . . and not on Peachtree nearer to 17th St. and Brookwood as indicated on the map.

    1. Harry, thanks for your comment. The address is 1125 Peachtree Street, according to a Selig spokesperson. The Atlanta Business Chronicle is also reporting that address ~ Caleb

      1. Yep, that is correct. This proposal is 1125 Peachtree (location of proposal in the rendering and address validated with city permitting application), meanwhile Selig is also awaiting land development permits for 1105 west Peachtree.

  3. I think this is the parcel of land where they most recently held the Steamhouse Lounge Oysterfest back in Feb. At least that’s what I get when I punch in 1125 Peachtree to Google Maps.

  4. I’m pretty sure the site will be the block bounded by Peachtree, Juniper, 12, and 13, as it appears in the rendering. When typing 1125 Peachtree Street into Google Maps, it brings up 1125 Peachtree Street NW, not 1125 Peachtree Street NE.
