Brady Lowe is behind the fast-casual sandwich shop, at 57 Forsyth Street NW.

“Our mission is to create a scalable restaurant model that operates on the values of inclusivity, sustainability, integrity, and responsibility,” Lowe said in the release.

“We believe in being mindful of the well-being of our guests, as well as our employees, our purveyors and our community. We believe in supporting our growers, farmers and artisans and using the best ingredients for our menu and events.”

Short for “chef’s pantry,” The Pantry retails “chef-prepared ingredients” and meal kits from the walk-in refrigerator to take home, in addition to its “gourmet” sandwiches.

“Different parts of the United States have sandwiches they call their own,” according to the release.

“Chicago crowned the Chicago Dog, Muffaletta is the king of New Orleans, Iowa is home to the loose meat sandwich, and Eggslut is the breakfast phenomenon in Los Angeles. Atlanta is lesser-known for sandwich lore but is home to the Club Sandwich, which was first published in the {Atlanta Journal-Constitution} in 1897.”

There are also vegan, paleo, and Whole30-friendly options.

For example, the Dan Dan Bahn Mi, Sloppy Joe, and Pimento Press Burger can all be ordered vegan.

The Pantry also offers housemade “green juice” and a selection of non-dairy cold-brew mocktails like the Girl Scout Cookie and the Chunky Monkey, a cold brew concoction steeped with cocoa nibs and banana chips finished with Elmhurst’s cashew milk.

A Grand Opening event Sept. 30 will kick-off with a “sandwich cutting ceremony” at 4:30 p.m.

The Pantry is now open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
