The ballet studio, which is currently sharing space with Balanced Fit Life, at 760 Confederate Avenue SE, this week filed plans with City of Atlanta to open its own space in Ormewood Square, at 749 Moreland Ave SE.

“We are moving!,” Rebecca Harman, The Neighborhood Ballet owner, posted to the company’s Facebook page Wednesday.

“Located in the Ormewood Square Shopping Center, we are excited to offer our dancers and their families a beautiful space with a reception area and a light-filled dance studio. In addition to our new studio, we will also be expanding our class offerings to include many more time options.”

The new studio should open with classes starting in January, Harman told What Now Atlanta in an email Thursday.

“Our children’s classes help to develop coordination, discipline, gross motor skills, and musicality,” Harman said.

“Our goal is to ignite a passion inside of them and a love for music and movement. Watching our students’ growth is such a gift. We are delighted when parents tell us that their children have fallen in love with dance and are constantly dancing around the house.”

Ormewood Square, which houses Little Azio’s, Spoon and Morelli’s Ice Cream, among others, was recently acquired by Pellerin Real Estate, the developer behind the soon-to-open The Beacon in Grant Park.
