The three-story project would offer retail and residential across 25,600 square feet, according to an official City filing for the development, and would rise on land that more than a century ago housed the Marbut and Minor General Mercantile Store, at 512 Flat Shoals Avenue SE.

Marbut and Minor was co-founded in 1896 by Ebenezer Augustus and Luther Marbut.

Marbut, originally from Lithonia, Georgia, owned a significant amount of land in and around what is known today at EAV.

Philippe Pellerin of Pellerin Real Estate on Friday did not immediately respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.
