“Darby and Darlene have decided to put this place to rest,” according to the social media post. “Tonight is the last night the doors will be open. It’s been kick-ass and we’ve made so many memories to cherish together. We love and appreciate all of you who have supported us. Thank you for making the last 30 years amazing.”

Reps for 21+ only The Highlander, known for its live music and billiards room, on Monday did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“In business since 1992, The Highlander has been a fixture of Atlanta’s late-night party scene,” according to the company’s website. “Open until 1 a.m. most nights of the week, The Highlander features a full bar, great food, and a fantastic patio. We also have a full game room with pool tables, pinball, and video games for your enjoyment.”

At the time of publication, The Highlander’s post had been shared nearly 1,000 times with fans recounting their favorite memories of the restaurant. “Oh my god. My wife and I had our first date there, and went there for beers after our wedding,” wrote Jason Puckett. “Thank you for all the memories!”

Another patron, Casey Morris, is hopeful The Highlander will reopen elsewhere. “I have more than 20 years of memories from going to the Highlander,” Morris wrote. “I’m sad that I’m in Orlando now and can’t make it out one last time. Thanks for everything. Please let us know if you guys decide to open up a new location.”
