The Gathering Spot is set to open a new location, Retreat at The Gathering Spot on the rooftop of The Interlock in West Midtown. It will occupy 38,000 square feet and an additional 20,000 square feet of office space, according to an announcement.

The Gathering Spot was founded in 2016 by Ryan Wilson and TK Petersen to create a place for people across all industries and backgrounds to gather to share ideas, grow their business and build relationships.

The membership-only club has expanded to Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles and now has about 12,000 members nationwide. The Gathering Spot is the largest Black-owned community in the U.S., according to the announcement.

“The Gathering Spot has always been a space where meaningful connections and bold ideas come to life,” Wilson said in a statement. “With Retreat at The Gathering Spot, we’re expanding that vision – not only providing a dynamic environment for business meetings and networking but also creating a respite from the day-to-day. This space is designed for both productivity and relaxation, where members can seamlessly transition from closing deals to unwinding with friends, engaging in wellness experiences, and enjoying a social retreat that recharges and inspires.”

The Gathering Spot has an existing space at 384 Northyards Boulevard NW.

The upcoming location at The Interlock will be a first-of-its-kind for the brand, including a rooftop pool with views of Midtown and spaces for private events. It will also feature similar membership perks, including two full-service restaurants, workspaces, skill workshops, member events and more.

Membership will be by invitation only, and candidates must be a member of The Gathering Spot first to be considered. Those interested in joining can apply via The Gathering Spot website here

Retreat at The Gathering Spot is expected to open in summer 2025.

“The Gathering Spot is deeply rooted in Atlanta culture, serving as a community gathering place for innovators and creatives,” said Shawn Tibbetts, CEO and president of Armada Hoffler. “In the heart of Atlanta’s tech hub, The Interlock provides the perfect location for its new chapter. Members will enjoy being part of this mixed-use community, with access to best-in-class entertainment, restaurant and retail concepts as an added benefit to their memberships.”

The Interlock is a mixed-use destination in West Midtown with tenants like the first Puttshack, the 161-room Bellyard, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel and 200,000 square feet of office space.
