The Elder Tree Public House, located at 469 Flat Shoals Avenue SE, is set to become The Pub @ EAV in late summer or early fall.

The 2,830-square-foot space is being turned into an airy community pub led by owner Kasie Scott, chef Mike LaSage and mixologist Bree Towry. The restaurant will be “reminiscent of a modern traditional British pub,” with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

“When I moved to East Atlanta in 2021, I found my community within the East Atlanta Village,” Scott said in a news release. “It’s my hope to create an atmosphere of belonging and pride among patrons and staff alike, ensuring everyone feels at home in this new, yet familiar, community hub.”

The menu will feature globally inspired cuisine with a local flair crafted by Chef LaSage, formerly of Bone Lick BBQ, P’cheen International Bistro & Pub, The Edgewood Speakeasy and The Music Room. Menu highlights will include a Cuban Pop Tart with ham, smoky pork, swiss cheese, house pickles and spicy mustard; fish and chips; a Scotch Egg Benny, a mix of a soft egg, sausage-wrapped, breaded and fried, laid in a Kennebec potato nest, fresh herb foliage, hollandaise and herbed cream; and a rotating selection of noodles and pasta dishes.

LaSage will close out the weekend with Sunday Roasts featuring rotating British pub-style roasts, available for both dine-in and takeout. LaSage will also add catering services for corporate and private events.

“With the help and support of the community, we envision The Pub becoming the heartbeat of East Atlanta Village,” LaSage said. “Our goal is to offer a platform for cultural exchange through a globally inspired menu, a thoughtful cocktail program and vibrant experiences – from events and pop-ups to initiatives that spotlight our favorite local causes.”

The space will include lush plants, lots of muted greens and blues, dark wood, brick walls, rotating art from local artists, and an expansive copper-topped bar.

The revamp, featuring two large garage door openings facing Flat Shoals Avenue, will include additional outdoor seating options and a dedicated entertainment area for live music.

Scott told What Now Atlanta they intend to be open as The Pub @ EAV before the East Atlanta Strut in late September.
