Every neighborhood needs a spirits-making partner…right?

The Castleberry Spur, a Castleberry Hill public space for live performances, pop-up markets, and art shows at 154 Walker Street SW, will hold its grand opening on October 9, according to an email sent to What Now Atlanta (WNA) from the project’s public relations firm.

New Amsterdam Spirits, which produces high-rated vodka and gin, is backing the project through a partnership with the Castleberry Hill neighborhood.

The space was formerly occupied by the Otis Elevator Company, with renovations that began on August 7 now nearly completed.

The grand opening on October 9 will feature live music, local food stands, and, of course, cocktails from New Amsterdam. A further schedule of events for the gathering space has not yet been released.

Will the neighborhood-and-spirits partnership take off and lead to similar projects throughout Atlanta? Let us know what you think in the comments section below!

  1. That’s odd, I just walked by with my dogs and saw an empty lot with some boards and rebar scattered about. They better get busy for an early October open.

  2. Just a heads up that the 154 Walker property was not able to be used for this project and the community space is moving to 310 Trenholm on the south end of the neighborhood and combining with a soccer pitch being worked by the Castleberry Hill Athletic Club. Ground breaking slated for November, 2016.
