The concept features “stalls” including Fred’s Meat & Bread, Yalla, TGM Bagel, and Square Bar, all owned and operated by TGM Hospitality (The General Muir, TGM Bread, West Egg, Oddbird.)
The Canteen June 10 got cleared to open by City of Atlanta, according to the food hall’s Facebook page.
“It’s official! [The Canteen] opens Monday, June 12,” according to the Saturday social media posting. “[TGM Bagel], 7 a.m.; [Fred’s and Yalla], 11 a.m. [Square Bar] all day.”
The food hall replaced The Spence, at 75 Fifth Street NW, which shuttered mid-2016.
Here are the hours of operation:
- Fred’s Meat & Bread: Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Square Bar: Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

With the launch of Ponce City Market in 2014, food halls seems to be the latest Atlanta trend. Krog Street Market followed shortly after and Midtown’s Colony Square is looking to land Eataly or cultivate a food hall of its own.
