The new addition is about 800 square feet with a total occupancy of 40 people and is located in Grant Park.

Grant Park Social will serve 150 different bourbons, plus craft tequila, vodka and gin. Customers can also order desserts: peach cobbler and sweet potato cheesecakes made by Smokey Peach, a Black-owned catering company owned by Rashad Boatwright.

Owner Mario Johnson told What Now Atlanta that he is hoping to attract bourbon lovers, a very niche and unique clientele, especially since there are no other bourbon spots in Grant Park. “Bourbon is hot right now,” Johnson said.

The bar itself was crafted using actual bourbon barrel staves and sits 20 to 25 people. Jazz and light music will play in the background. Johnson intends for the ambience to be small and intimate like the show Cheers, “where everybody knows your name.”

“It’s as if you are at a high-end man cave,” Johnson described.

This new expansion will also allow clientele to have a space to grab a drink or order food before being seated at The Beverly, where there is usually a multiple-hour wait.

Grant Park Social’s grand opening is still yet to be announced. Though, it is expected to happen within the next month.
