Nobi Cha Bubble Tea filed a building permit recently for 4279 Roswell Rd. NE, #201, in Atlanta. The location was previously a Jamba Juice.

According to the permit renovations included drywall, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and framing in the 975-square-foot space.

Owner Lida Turner did not respond to request for comment by the time of publication.

They anticipate opening by March, as they work through the permitting process, Nobi Cha ATL officials wrote on social media. They are working closely with the city of Atlanta, another post explains.

The location will offer bubble teas, fruit teas, frappes, and soda. There are more than 80 drink flavors on the menu.

“We pride ourselves on the quality of our products,” the Nobi Cha USA website reads. “Our intention is to let the world try and enjoy the most aromatic teas that we have discovered. We hand-select our teas based on scent, taste, and overall quality.”

Nobi Cha announced last March the company’s plans to open several new stores in North America. The North Buckhead location is the first of 10 coming to the US, according to a social media post by the company.

“We are excited to launch the Nobicha Bubble Tea brand in the US,” officials wrote on the website. “We will have several stores opening in 2020 along with franchise opportunities to open more stores.”

Nobi Cha, or Nobicha, is one of the largest growing Bubble Tea franchises in Southeast Asia, according to the website. In just three years, Thailand-based Nobi Cha has started to expand overseas to the US, Cambodia, and Malaysia, with more than 800 locations.

CEO and founder Phumiphat Phacharasap (not translated: ภูมิพัฒน์ พชรทรัพย์) founded the brand in 2018, according to the company’s Thai website. He loves drinking and tasting tea from many countries, the website explains.

“I always find a tea shop that is delicious and tasty in the journal of every travel,” he wrote on the Nobicha website.

As people care more about their health and nutrition, they studied and developed the Nobi cha-style tea recipes by searching for the original tea leaves that came from Taiwan, according to the website.

    1. I went to a Yelp event they hosted this week and this stuff is AWESOME! It will be a BIG hit and is here to stay!!! I cannot wait for the Lenox Mall location to open!!!

    1. Hi Robin! The plan was for it to open sometime in November. No date has been set yet, though, and they’re running out of time for this month! We’ll update with a date if it is indeed announced that the opening will be later than expected.

  2. I went to the mall of ga location. There’s an option to have your drink cold or hot, I got hot. My server poured the hot tea into the plastic cup you normally put cold boba teas in. Yet they had the regular cups that are made for hot beverages. I asked them what are they doing because they sealed the drink in those plastic cups with the plastic seal and proceeded to place that cup into the regular cardboard cup so that the drink wouldn’t burn my hands? I’m pretty sure the plastic had melted into my drink already and I asked them to pour it into the cardboard cup thats for hot drinks, but they were reluctant because they didn’t have lids? I understand it’s your first time opening but common sense, who pours hot drinks into thin plastic? I tossed my drink in the trash regardless because one sip was too much milk and not blended well with the tea and probably some plastic. Anyways work on it, I won’t be back anytime soon.
Sorry this stuff isn’t real boba tea, go to pleasant hill if you want the good stuff
