Take 5 Oil Change is planned for Milledgeville at 2400 N Columbia Street, according to construction documents. The automotive maintenance shop will feature several service bays, according to the documents.
The location comes from Toxaway Automotive Group. Founded in 2018, the group has helped bring Take 5 Oil Changes to cities across Georgia.
Take 5 was founded in 1984 as Rapid Oil Change, offering quick oil changes, minor repairs and other maintenance services. After expanding to dozen of locations, the company began offering stay-in-your-car oil changes in 1996. Take 5 reached the milestone of 1,000 locations in 2023. There are both company-owned and franchised locations.
In addition to oil changes, the auto shops offer services like windshield wiper replacements, air filter replacements, coolant exchanges, tire pressure checks and more.
Construction bids on the proposed Milledgeville location will be accepted until March 12, 2025.
Milledgeville is located southeast of Atlanta.

What is going into the Candler Park space?
It’s not known yet what will be going into the space once Flying Biscuit Cafe moves.
Kris says:
…more modern, more contemporary. Oh no!
This article told the “what”, but not the “why” – as in “why are they moving from the original location, which has been a Candler Park institution for some 30 years”? That location also incorporated an adjacent bakery space, so will that continue to operate in the new location as well?
