Taffer’s Tavern is planned for 1382 Peachtree Street NE, in a commercial space at the Nomia apartment building. This will be Georgia’s third location of Taffer’s Tavern, which can also be found in Alpharetta and at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The concept was created by Jon Taffer, hospitality expert and host of the show Bar Rescue. It is modeled after a traditional tavern, designed to be “a place to meet old friends while making new ones.” The menu features “elevated tavern foods” and comfort cuisine, including burgers, flatbreads and salads. The beverage program includes signature cocktails, beer, wine and more.
The upcoming Taffer’s Tavern in Midtown is helmed by franchisee Hemant Suri. It was announced in 2019 that Suri would help bring five locations of the concept to Georgia in the brand’s first multi-unit franchise agreement. Suri has also been a franchisee of the Indian street food concept Curry Up Now.
“I’m thrilled to share that we’re opening our third Taffer’s Tavern location with our first franchisee, Hemant Suri, in the heart of Midtown Atlanta,” Taffer said in a statement.
The restaurant will be about 5,330 square feet, according to planning documents. It is expected to open in 2025.
In addition to the restaurants in Georgia, Taffer’s Tavern can also be found in Washington, D.C., with additional locations planned for Montgomery, Alabama, and Orlando, Florida.
