Black Restaurant Week, founded in 2016 by Warren Luckett, Falayn Ferrell, and Derek Robinson, “is dedicated to celebrating the flavors of African-American, African, and Caribbean cuisine nationwide.” It runs in Atlanta from Sept. 4 – Sept. 13, 2020.

“We want to bring something new and refreshing to Douglasville,” Keon Friday said in a prepared statement. “The people here should have the option of a Buckhead or Alpharetta dining experience without having to leave their community. Our menu is diverse and has something for everyone. We’ll offer vegan dishes that aren’t a letdown from fine dining.”

Chef Keon has worked with many entrepreneurs to develop and build their restaurants, including Cam Newton’s Fellaship Cigar Lounge, according to a press release. Priester, the founder of Not Just A Getaway 4U and creator of The refresHER Experience, has hosted “getaways” for the cast of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta including Kandi Burruss, Todd Tucker, and Shamea Morton, among other television personalities.

“We’re excited to help build a better city by bringing dining done differently to the community,” Priester said. “We have the vision to enhance the diversity in Douglasville and are honored that we can break barriers. We are creating a legacy that our family and my children can be proud of.”

In celebration of Black Restaurant Week, Table25 Fork + Wine will host a number of events including a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday and a soft-opening for the public on Saturday from 4 p.m. until midnight. The grand opening on Sunday, Sept. 6, will start at 11 a.m.

“This black-owned business is saving Georgians the commute, keeping the money in the historic city and living by Douglasville’s motto, ‘New Growth, Old Charm, Always Home,'” a spokesperson told What Now Atlanta in an email.
