The restaurant’s Marketing Director Harry Jung in an email Wednesday told What Now Atlanta to expect an end-of-September debut.

“Our presentation and sauces really take [Poke] to the next level…,” Jung said.

“Our head chef has a background in fine dining (for sushi restaurants in [Atlanta]) so our sauces as well as our presentation should be a step above our competitors.”

The Hawaiian-style eatery is opening in Suite 1600 of the Perimeter Place Shopping Center replacing the now-shuttered DaVia Italian Fast & Fresh.

The 2,402-square-foot space, at 4511 Olde Perimeter Way, is on an end-cap adjacent an empty suite.

Like other Poke concepts in town, at Sweet Tuna guests pick a serving size, a base like rice or salad, a fish protein, toppings, and flavors.

Sweet Tuna isn’t blind to the recent poke-saturation in the Atlanta-area.

“If you live in a major city, you may have caught wind of the current new “trend” Poke…,” according to the restaurant’s website.

“Although quite a recent phenomenon, Poke has been around for centuries and for good reason. This classic Hawaiian dish serves cubed raw fish, served atop steamed rice, seasoned any way you want it.”

Sweet Tuna will join other restaurants like Carrabba’s and Taco Mac in the Target-anchored shopping center.

More locations could be in the works, according to Jung.

“We plan to expand as much as possible.”
