Superica’s second location, in Chastain Park, pays homage to Fry’s Texas roots with wood-fired Tex-Mex fare in a lively, casual atmosphere.

“Chastain Park has a great neighborhood vibe and it’s such an active community. I love the music aspect with all the great concerts at the park” said Fry in a prepared statement. Live music will too be a main feature at Superica, with performers lined up every Friday and Saturday.

The menu, from Fry and vice president of culinary operations Kevin Maxey, includes starters like Hot Tamales and Queso Fundido as well as variety of chilled seafood ceviche. Large plates like Camerones Brochetas, Tacos al Carbon and Parilla Mixta Fajitas will be served sizzling from the kitchen’s custom mesquite wood-fired grill.

Excepct signature Superica dishes like Puffy Tacos, Chicken Verde Enchiladas and The El Lopez to round out the Tex-Mex menu as well.

Fry’s beverage expert Lara Creasy created a cocktail menu intended to reflect the restaurant’s lively atmosphere. Expect two frozen drink machines at the location serving up margaritas and other frozen drinks.

Signature cocktails will include The Vampire Weekend with house-made horchata, spiced rum, grated nutmeg, cinnamon, and pineapple.

Creasy’s wine list is “accessible yet eclectic,” with an emphasis on South American and Spanish producers. Craft beer is available on draft and by the bottle from local producers such as Three Taverns, Wild Heaven and Eventide, as well as Cigar City (FL); Oskar Blues (CO); and Lonerider (NC).

Superica Buckhead will open for dinner Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Weekend brunch will make it’s debut in August. Until then, regular lunch hours will operate on the weekends. Brunch will feature Hot Cakes with buttermilk syrup; Chilequiles with scrambled eggs and smoked bacon as well as classic Huevos Rancheros. A variety of vegetarian and gluten free options like Vegetable Mixta Fajitas will be available.
