The restaurant and lounge announced in a press release Monday it is set to open on Thursday, September 19.

“With all of the changes coming to Downtown, we saw a need for a different kind of establishment here,” Terry Clark, co-owner of Suite Food Lounge said in the release.

“What we offer is a place where families can come and enjoy a great, affordable meal for lunch or dinner, which transforms at night into a sophisticated bar and lounge hosting some of the best local musical talent…”

Suite Food Lounge will replace Luckie Food Lounge, at 375 Luckie Street NW (at the corner of Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard).

The full service restaurant and lounge will serve “contemporary American cuisine with traditional Southern influences,” according to the release.

The menu, created by chef Michael Stevenson, features small sharable plates, wood-fired pizzas, and signature entrees.

There will be gourmet coffee drinks, fresh juices and homemade pastries from pastry chef Tonisha Jackson, and a limited lounge menu for late night dining.

Suite Food Lounge is divided into three levels: the ground floor features the main dining room, a VIP lounge and dance floor, and two full bars; downstairs there is a private dining space called The Royal Suite; upstairs is The Penthouse, a larger private and VIP area with a separate bar and a sky deck with views of Downtown.

    1. @Tammy I agree. They’re trying to play both sides of the fence, families by day and club by night. Ain’t gonna work!

  1. They miss the point again…Luckie closed because they employed this concept. You don’t see dining establishments that last with dance floors.

  2. Yep. This is pretty much an exact replica of the Luckie Food Lounge that failed here. I was at the review board meeting when the owner (Terry) applied for a license; he’s a nice guy, but I was not impressed with his concept. I’ll be surprised if it lasts 8 months. This building is a tear-down waiting to happen.

  3. Waste of money doing this idea. Just be a bar or a restaurant and not both. Sounds like mediocrity as its worst. The location is crap too being on the backside of the aquarium parking deck and disconnected from the park and hotels.

  4. Surely his identical concept will work way better!!

It amazes me how dumb people are especially when it comes to the food service industry. I can’t believe this guy couldn’t find a better location for the same lease terms. That location sucks and the fact that he is building Luckie Lounge 2.0 is sheer stupidity.

Here’s a concept… put a restaurant where people can walk to other appealing things close by! If he thinks he will stay in business from the aquarium crowd… well, good luck buddy.

  5. This restaurant was horrible last Saturday night. Our table was apparently on the dance floor because they quickly made us move when it was time for others to dance. The customer service was very poor. The waitresses were not friendly and I don’t think she smiled the entire night. We had a party of 10 and since we made a reservation, we all had to spend $25. This would not have been a problem if they had a decent menu to choose from. The food selection was very poor, no variety, and over priced. I would not recommend this place to anyone! PLEASE DONT WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

  6. I had my 40th birthday party April 12th! The whole reservation process was not together from beginning to end. It was always a hassle to get in touch with the person who handles reservations Bc they never answer the reservation line. Ended up speaking to three ppl about my reservation. When arrived there was a $20 charge to park at the restaurant that no one mentioned. Third, the jazz band was phenomenal, but they only performed for two hours during dinner. I felt My dinner was rushed because they were getting ready for the club crowd.(even though I had the Community section reserved), we were still rushed. Everyone’s order had a 18% gratuity charge added, even though it was one bill. I had a huge cake, and the waiter threw the cake box away and it was a hassle trying to get management to find a cake box to carry my cake out. Talked to “Khadijah” that night and she thought It was just a “cake box”. I tried to explain, that I paid for my cake and wanted to take it home. It was almost the whole cake. However They brought over a huge cardboard box, so I had to take what I could get. Some of my guests were unsatisfied with their order and the waiter basically was saying oh well that’s how the chef cooks it type of attitude. He was quick, not friendly, and didn’t care for his sarcasm! He vanished after we settled the bill and was no where to be found.

Tuesday apr 15th, Khadijah called to discuss my concerns and invited us back to the restaurant.
Not sure if I will, but still waiting for the owner to contact me…

Overall I had an “okay” time, my favorite was the band. Going forward I wish they would extend the times for the band 6-10, so dinner won’t seem rushed, or have a jazz night on a different night Bc the club crowd was not the mature crowd like the dinner/jazz. I smelled weed and they were smoking hookahs. I guess it’s cool if your into those things.
