Sugar Factory American Brasserie has secured a lease for Midtown, a company spokesperson Wednesday confirmed in an email to What Now Atlanta (WNA.)

The 8,000-square-foot eatery and confectionary shop will open in space formerly occupied by Mi Cocina in the 1010 Midtown development, at 1080 Peachtree Street NE.

Residents at the condominium tower this week received an email from the property’s HOA announcing Sugar Factory’s plans.

“We wanted a location that was tourist friendly and also attracted locals” Charissa Davidovici, Sugar Factory’s founder, said in a prepared statement.

“It’s in the middle of all the action in an up and coming area.”

With 20 locations worldwide—from Miami to Dubai—Sugar Factory is known for its “celebrity couture pops,” smoking candy cocktails and “over-the-top desserts.

Each restaurant location features a menu with selections of everything from pancakes and sweet and savory crepes to salads, burgers, and pizzas.

Popular appetizers include bruschetta of the day, fried macaroni and cheese and mini rainbow sliders.

Soups and salads include tomato bisque soup, Garbage salad, Chinese chicken salad and Caesar salad.

Sandwiches and burgers include the buffalo chicken sandwich, made with buttermilk battered buffalo chicken breast, shredded lettuce, vine-ripened tomatoes, and celery aioli, served on a brioche bun, and Sugar Factory’s signature burgers including the Monster Burgers with various toppings piled high.

Sugar Factory’s desserts top each menu with the King Kong Sundae serving up to 12 people with 24 scoops of ice cream, sprinkles, caramel sauce, fudge sauce, strawberry sauce, marshmallows, Reese’s Pieces, chocolate chip cookies, crushed waffle cones, gummy bears, white chocolate strawberry shavings, sliced bananas, toasted walnuts and whipped cream, then topped off with giant swirly pops.

Milkshakes follow the sundae including the Caramel Daddy Cheesecake topped with a whirly lollipop and slice of cheesecake.

Other desserts and sweet treats include the hot chocolate, frozen hot chocolate, doughnuts and other shakes like the Chocolate Cookie Jar Shake made with Oreo cookie crumbles, chocolate chips, caramel, vanilla ice cream and pure melted chocolate, topped with whipped cream and Oreo cookies.

Sugar Factory’s premium cocktails mix sweet treats with spiked adult beverages, including the signature alcohol-infused smoking candy goblets, such as the Lollipop Passion, a mix of tropical flavors served with unicorn lollipops.

The martini selections include the Sour Apple Lolly Martini, finished off with a Pop Rocks rim and lollipop in the glass and the S’Mores Martini, a combination of chocolate and marshmallows, garnished with a graham cracker rim.

Sugar Factory will open its Midtown doors spring 2019 with a “few special features that you’ll only be able to find there.”

“From our Insane Milkshakes to our Monster Burgers to our endless candy options, we are all about treasuring family fun, having a ball and savoring every memory. We are looking forward to our grand opening event and welcoming the community to our space.”

  1. This is great news! Awesome concept and first hand experience visiting them last year. Can’t wait for them to open.

  2. I don’t this this a good choice for the space, with Intermezzo across the street and Sweet Hut a block away. I bet it lasts a year before pulling the plug. Gus B – are you affiliated with the restaurant or the landlord? Hmmmmm sounds like it.

    1. I looked up Intermezzo and i looked up Sweet Hut…. none of them are like Sugar Factory. It looks like those two are just sit down Bakery/Cafes… They dont even have a Liquor License by the looks of things. Sugar Factorys main part of the menu are the Drinks and Shakes.
