The Alabama-based popsicle maker has listed the shop’s furniture and fixtures for sale through The Shumacher Group.

$250,000 is the asking price.

“Ice pop making equipment,” the Steel City Pops business and name itself, and the company’s recipes are not included in the purchase price.

Steel City Pops Owner Jim Watkins is also looking to transfer the location’s ten-year lease to a new owner.

Rent is $10,280.87 per month.

Watkins on Wednesday did not respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment.

A new lessee could convert the space into virtually any other business, according to the listing.

Opened in 2017, the 3,500-square-foot Decatur Steel City Pops has operated as a production facility and retail storefront for the company.

It was created with the capacity to manufacture pops for at least five additional Atlanta-area locations.

“Steel City Pops decided not to expand in Atlanta,” Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group, in an email told WNA Tuesday.

Steel City Pops has stores in Alabama, Kentucky, and Texas.

I never quite understood why Steel Pops would open in the shadow of King of Pops. They were simply too popular and established on this side of Atlanta.
