Separate 2 million dollar building should be completed by June 2016.
St. Jude’s plans to build a new healthcare center at 160 Pine Street Northeast in the SoNo neighborhood downtown, St. Jude’s President in a telephone conversation Thursday told What Now Atlanta (WNA).
“It will be a healthcare center with a much wider variety of services,” Shaffer revealed. “We hope to have it ready in June 2016.”
The new building will be next to the St. Jude’s Recovery Center, which will also be renovated, at 139 Renaissance Parkway NE.
Both the healthcare center and renovations are part of St. Jude’s capital campaign, which is seeking in part to “relieve the burden of nearby emergency rooms,” according to an announcement outlining the campaign.
Construction of the two-story, 8,000-square-foot healthcare center will cost an estimated $2,000,000.

Any construction in the area is a good thing. It has become a medical hub similar to Pill Hill.

If someone really has a problem with St. Jude….
I wish they’d take while whole block and build a full blown hospital there. It’s really a fairly small lot. An 8,000 sq ft facility isn’t all that much.
