Southern Pedaler, Atlanta’s “only party bike service,” is launching March 24, according to a press release Thursday.
The new entertainment company is based in Midtown at the corner of 10th Street and Juniper and offers two-hour tours for up to 15 people on its large “pedaler” and up to six people on a smaller version of the bike.
Southern Pedaler was founded by Rani Shetti and Daniel Deedy, both graduates of Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business.
The idea to start Southern Pedaler came from a weekend trip to Asheville, NC and a ride on the “Pubcycle.”
“The Amazing Pubcycle gave us a way to quickly see Asheville, learn about the local hotspots from a local, grab some drinks on a Friday night, and squeeze in a workout along the way,” Deedy said in the release.
“I can’t imagine a better way to see a new city.”
But unlike Pubcycle, alcoholic beverages won’t be available on Southern Pedaler’s tours, according to the company’s frequently asked questions.
Southern Pedaler stops at local restaurants, bars, and other attractions around town, offering pedalers “a unique and interactive way to experience the city.”
“We are so excited to bring Atlanta a fun, active and environmentally friendly way to explore the city,” Shetti said.
“We want locals and tourists to see Atlanta the way we see our hometown. We’ll travel down the famous Peachtree Street, stop at some amazing hotspots in Midtown, tour the rich Downtown attractions, and show everyone how great this place really is, all while pedaling the ATL.”
