A new dessert spot is in the works in Roswell.
MilkShake Factory is planned for 920 Woodstock Road. The menu includes a range of milkshakes, from the classic (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry) to the signature (Campfire S’mores, Bananas Foster, Caramel Toffee Cappuccino and more). They also offer a variety of sundaes, root beer floats, and dairy-free shakes.
The multigeneration family company began in 1914 as a small soda and chocolate shop in Pittsburgh. As the business continued through the family for decades, they opened a chocolate factory in 1973. They opened a chocolate shop on the South Side of Pittsburgh in 1995 that would later become the first MilkShake Factory location. Dana Edwards Manatos developed the concept of MilkShake Factory in 2003 as part of a college project.
The company began franchising in 2023, with the first franchised location opening in Pleasant Grove, Utah. There are now 11 locations in the Pittsburgh area, plus several more across the U.S. It was announced in 2024 that the company had awarded 100 franchise units in more than 15 states.
Bobby Childers, local owner of the upcoming Roswell location, said it is expected to open in April.
It will be located in a 1,436-square-foot space in a commercial building that also includes Atlanta Dance Central, CrossFit and more.
