The soon-to-open Silverspot will be the first location in Georgia for the dine-in theatre.
“We’re excited to open our doors soon to the Atlanta community,” Gonzalo Ulivi, Managing Partner of Silverspot Cinema, said in Tuesday’s announcement. “As we prepare to join the entertainment offerings at The Battery Atlanta, we look forward to providing guests a truly unique experience that enhances their favorite cinematic screenings with our first-class offerings.”
The 50,000 square-foot, two-story theatre will include ten auditoriums featuring 588 fully reclining seats and Barco High Contrast Laser Projectors for “the most vivid colors on the big screens.” Silverspot Cinema in The Battery Atlanta will also feature Dolby Cinema Sound.
“Whether dropping by for a handcrafted cocktail or in-theater service, guests can expect a fully curated dining experience featuring a brand-new chef-inspired menu,” according to the announcement. Serving American cuisine, Silverspot Cinema’s menu includes a selection of starters and shareables, entrées, and desserts.
Silverspot also has its standalone S Bar cocktail lounge featuring signature cocktails, craft beers, and wine.

Do people have this much free time?
To see a movie?
…hours of lounging, drinking and whatnot.
In other words, is there a critical mass for this type of development…love to see the market research.
There are 6 Million plus people in the Atlanta metro area. 2.5 million people attended games at SunTrust Park/The Battery last year. The population within 5 miles is about 220,000 and the average Household income within those 5 miles is $90,000+. Over 1,000 people live on property at the Battery and 3,000 work on property. 4 hotels are located on or adjacent to the property (1 under construction). The new North America corporate headquarters for elevator giant Thyssenkrupp with almost 1,000 new jobs is under construction on property. Within the 5 miles of this developement, there is only 1 movie theatre to serve the local market. All signs point to this being a very successful addition to the area.
Movies are not a team outing and many of the entertainment activities at The Battery cater to team outings.
I just don’t see this concept lasting more than a few years.
Have you actually been to the Battery? I’m not sure exactly you are referring to as the “entertainment activities” that cater to team events. I was there last night..a Wednesday, No game going on…the restaurants were buzzing with lots of people and many pedestrians walking around. These were not “team events” by any stretch. The affluent population in the surrounding areas is supporting the Battery even on non game days. No reason to think a movie theatre won’t make it. It will only create a more fully developed destination.
The AMC is a mile away, and I can see three movies a week for $20 a month. Can’t wait to see what they have to offer. Ha
I live in the area and I am very excited about this new theater!! I don’t really care for the AMC down the street and I love going to the Battery. I hope the prices are reasonable. I love the dine-in theaters. And I especially like the ones that allow you to come early and order early so you have time to get your food before the movie begins.
