Silom Thai and Sushi Bar - Former Katana Buckhead Space

Katana Teppanyaki and Sushi, a Japanese restaurant that closed its doors earlier this year in Buckhead, will soon be replaced.

Asian eatery Silom Thai and Sushi Bar is in permitting with the City of Atlanta to open in Katana’s place, at 3345 Lenox Road NE, across the street from Lenox Square Mall.

Silom is the name of a financial district in Bangkok, Thailand.

Details surrounding Silom Thai and Sushi Bar are scarce and little to no work is expected converting the space from Katana to the new concept.

An estimated $20,000 will be spent in minor construction costs such as demolishing the teppan area (the metal griddle used in teppanyaki-style cooking) and adding a new lower partition wall.

Katana owner MOD Restaurants earlier this year tried to sell the restaurant before closing it.

MOD instead shuttered the eatery and “gave the keys back to the landlord,” according to a representative with Shumacher Group, the former listing agent.
