Shake Shack is moving forward with its third Atlanta-area location.

Plans this week were filed with the City to build out the fast-casual burger chain in Edge on the Beltline, an under-construction mixed-use development in Old Fourth Ward and Inman Park.

An estimated $500,000 will be spent constructing the 3,569-square-foot restaurant, at 670 DeKalb Avenue NE.

Smith Hanes Studio is designing the forthcoming Shake Shack “using recycled and sustainable materials, booths made from lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and tabletops constructed from reclaimed bowling alley lanes,” according to a press release earlier this year.

The menu will feature items only available at the Old Fourth Ward location in collaboration with local purveyors.

Proceeds from certain menu items will benefit local charity partners.

Shake Shack is one of several restaurants slated to occupy Edge’s 29,000 square feet of loft office, restaurant, and retail space.

Kevin Gillespie is opening a cocktail bar and beer garden called Cold Beer and Revelator is bringing Hazel Jane’s Wine and Coffee to the development.

Edge, slated to open in December 2018, will also include 350 residential units, with 10 percent designated as affordable workforce housing.

Existing Shake Shacks locally are situated in The Shops Buckhead Atlanta and in Perimeter Mall.

A fourth location is planned for Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
