Sean’s Candler Park Gourmet Market Expects Opening By Late September

The market will open in the former location of Nazeem Allayl Belly Dancing Studio.

Since 2012, Sean Germain and Amber Germain have headed Sean’s as a premier outdoor sandwich bar, specializing in made-from-scratch biscuits and locally roasted coffee. By the end of the month, the Germains’ operation will have a new location with even more space.

The new gourmet market will be in Candler Park in the former location of Nazeem Allayl Belly Dancing Studio, at 1394 McClendon Avenue NE. The location will span approximately 1,200 square feet, a big increase from the 500 Amsterdam Ave NE location at Sean’s Harvest Market, which is a meager 120 square feet.

This new venture will focus on sandwiches, breakfast foods, and coffee with baked goods and groceries, too. To ensure a safe environment during the pandemic, the occupancy will be limited, and online orders will be encouraged.

With the expected opening of Sean’s Candler Park, Sean’s will offer a total of three locations. Both Sean’s Heart of the Park and Sean’s Harvest Market are outdoor markets. Sean’s Candler Park is the first indoor market for the Germains.

Regarding Sean’s Harvest Market, Sean Germain said to What Now Atlanta (WNA), “It was literally a closet … We took the windows out, put a bar, and we had just five seats that looked in on us as we cooked in the closet. Over time, we put in a little patio and some tables and expanded our retail options and food options.”

There are currently no additional plans for new locations or expansions, but Sean Germain told WNA, “I’m feeling adequately busy right now, but who knows what the future will bring.”
